Children and Young People Meet and Create the City (BUMS)

Place: Parken, Center for Innovation, Helsingborg

Timeframe: 29-30 of April

Participants: Professionals working with children

Goal: To strengthen the influence of childrens and youth in transformation and development efforts in both the education sector and the city’s wider initiatives, with the overarching goal of building a sustainable city within a sustainable world—a city that people want to live in and long to be a part of!

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 29-30, we gathered professionals from different city departments to inspire, discuss, and explore how collaboration can foster meaningful learning in preschools, schools, as well as within city businesses and internal organizations. We gained insights through a variety of concrete examples from the work being done in preschools and schools.

WHY WAS IT A SUCCES?

The event gathered over 500 professionals. The city management was actively involved in the discussion during the days and have now decided to let the team do a similar event in 2026.

RECOMENDATIONS:

The team has decided to keep the event as a low budget event and work with existing resources and co-creation in order to not being dependent on budget cuts in the future.
