WHAT HAPPENED?

Each year in late August, Santaika hosts a guitar music evening titled Under the August Shooting Stars” – a vibrant community gathering centered around live music, creativity, and shared experiences. The event features live performances, creative workshops, games, and sports for children and young people. A special focus is placed on intergenerational communication – shared activities help bridge the gap between seniors and youth. The atmosphere is warm and inclusive, encouraging dialogue, storytelling, laughter, and musical connection.

WHY WAS IT A SUCCESS?

The event is organized in partnership with cultural institutions, the eldership, and volunteers. Residents are actively involved – both as participants and co-organizers. Young people are engaged through creative zones and sports activities. It creates a strong sense of community and becomes a highly anticipated event each summer.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. Promote activities that connect youth and seniors.

2. Include more creative workshops and educational content.

3. Maintain a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

4. Document experiences (photo/video) and share as good practice.
