The city of Kaskinen- The island of Kaskinen- is already a pearl in itself! People born in Kaskinen and people who have moved here are very proud of their home region and roots. The surrounding sea and nature, as well as the wooden-house-filled centre built on the island, makes Kaskinen almost a fairytale place! 

Over the course of its long history, Kaskinen has experienced many adversities. Recent adversities, such as the failure to build a new factory, the closure of the railway line and the threat of the end of health services in Kaskinen, have caused people’s faith in the future to begin to decline. Young people no longer see opportunities. 

2025 is the year of celebration in Kaskinen, when the city of Kaskinen turns 240 years old. The time is perfect for us to get people involved.If we do nothing now, Kaskinen will slowly fade away.
