A Walk Through Time by Alla Tiders Teater

Place: Outdoors in Helsingborg

Timeframe: 2024-2025

Participants: A free theater group and elderly

Goal: To give space to marginalized stories that have not traditionally been highlighted in culture or history. What hidden stories lie in Helsingborg?

WHAT HAPPENED?

“Walk Through Time” is an audio tour where, during their walk through the city, the audience experiences depictions of what it was like to move through these very places many years ago. Through radio theater and period-appropriate music, the audience is transported from the present day to a bygone Helsingborg.

The audio tour is based on a preliminary study involving interviews with older residents of Helsingborg (ages 60+), where memories and stories connected to specific places in the city were explored. These stories are dramatized and recorded, either by the interviewee or by actors from Alla Tiders Teater. The preliminary study culminated in an audio tour open to the public.

WHY IT WAS A SUCCES?

The project sparked curiosity and engagement from both actors, audience and interviewees about the relationship between art and nature. It gave the interviewees a chance to tell their story and see it brought to life, as well as a chance to explore acting and dramatic writing. The project also invited new audiences, such as a hiking group, into the world of theatre, and invited theatre-goers out in nature.
