WHAT IS IT?
A BarCamp is an informal, participant-driven event where attendees gather to share knowledge, discuss ideas, and collaborate in an open environment. BarCamps are known for their democratic and inclusive nature, encouraging active participation from everyone regardless of their background or expertise.
The Kiel Barcamp was themed “Ideas for Social Resilience” and targeted stakeholders from the CCI in Kiel. The goal was to collectively and co-creatively gather and develop ideas for content and formats for the Cultural Pearl Year in Kiel. After a welcome and introduction to the topic, sessions were planned and a schedule was created. In three rounds, a total of 17 sessions were offered (including Street Art, Culture and Democracy, Intercultural Meetings on Site), where participants could engage. As a result, participants were able to make new contacts and network well throughout the day. Despite all stakeholders being part of the Kiel cultural scene, many participants did not know each other. In the sessions, topic-specific ideas and formats could be developed, which participants can continue to work on after the Barcamp.
WHY WAS IT A SUCCESS?
