WHAT IS IT?
This methodology provides a flexible and adaptable model designed to engage, involve, and empower young people across various contexts. It recognizes the importance of tailoring approaches to different cultural, political, and social environments, making it a sustainable solution for youth engagement worldwide.
Key to this methodology is the acknowledgment that young people are diverse, with varied backgrounds, interests, and preferences for participation. Just as adults are not a homogeneous group, young people’s motivations and ways of engaging can differ widely. Therefore, this approach emphasizes offering multiple engagement formats rather than a single, standardized approach.
HOW TO?
The methodology provides a list of things to consider when engaging youth, and a list of tools to support empowerment and engagement.
If you are considering involving young people in your project, there are always four questions you should ask yourself: Why, when, whom, and how. The methodology guides you through what to consider with each question.
Examples of the tools suggested are: Future wokshop, Social Laboratories. Mobile Conversation Saloon, focus Groups ect.
